CellZone Medical Diagnostics Center of Luye Diagnostics Helps Safely Reopen Yantai University
On May 19-20, the Yantai CellZone Medical Diagnostics Center, part of Luye Diagnostics, conducted COVID-19 testing with nucleic acid tests (NATs) for the first group of 326 teachers and students from Yantai University who had returned to the university. These tests ensured that the teachers and students were safe, healthy and ready to start the new semester. The tests were also made possible due to collaboration and support by medical workers from hospitals such as the Yantai Huayi Rehabilitation Hospital.
On May 19, the diagnostics center took samples from the first group of Yantai University teachers who had returned to the university from other regions, and immediately conducted COVID-19 testing via NATs. Detailed test results came out that same day. On May 20, the diagnostics center joined hands with Luye Medical to create a site on the Yantai University campus. They took nasal swabs and blood samples from back-to-school students, spreading them out among different time slots. Guided by staff of the diagnostics center, the students took turns to receive tests, going through verification, sample collection, and disinfection.
The Yantai Municipal Government took this testing very seriously. The city’s sport & education bureau, health & family planning bureau, CDC and traffic police as well as staff from the university hospital helped with sample collection, ensuring that testing took place in an orderly manner, and the group was safe and healthy.
Since being approved as the first third-party testing organization for COVID-19 in Yantai, the diagnostics center has been doing testing for governmental and non-governmental organizations, leveraging its expertise to help Yantai resume work safely. Facing the unique difficulties caused by COVID-19, the diagnostics center will continue to work on protection as an ongoing effort and collaborate with the university to create a tight safety net for returning teachers and students.
