The first Latin America Psychiatry Symposium organized by Luye Pharma (International) was successfully held on August 25, 2021, with the online symposium open to psychiatrists and healthcare professionals from both Latin America and North America. Over 370 participants from Brazil, Mexico, Argentina, the United States, and Central American countries attended the event.
Three top local KOLs were invited to serve as the chair and lecturers at the symposium: Professor Helio Elkis from the University of Sao Paulo, Brazil, Professor Luis Alviso from Anahuac University, Mexico, and Professor Douglas Louis Noordsy from Stanford University, U.S.A.
The meeting addressed hot topics and cutting-edge issues in the fields of the central nervous system (CNS) and psychiatry, including clinical use of antipsychotics in managing bipolar disorder and the relationship between lifestyle and brain recovery in patients with schizophrenia. During a discussion session after the lectures, panelists exchanged views on the difficulties and challenges in the clinical treatment of bipolar disorder and schizophrenia, triggering active participation and a lively discussion among physicians in attendance.
Prior to this event, Luye Pharma (International) has organized three successful psychiatry symposiums in Asia Pacific, attracting thousands of psychiatrists and healthcare professionals from 10 different countries and regions.
