Singapore office expressed gratitude and appreciation to the brave, passionate nurses
Unlike other parts of the world, Singapore commemorates Nurses Day on 1 August. Back in 1885, the development of this noble profession officially commenced on this day. Nurses are indeed the backbone of our healthcare system and their tender loving care are like elixir to the sick. In these unprecedented times, it gives even greater significance to express our deepest gratitude and appreciation to all nurses for their bravery, passion and service to our patients.
Since the COVID-19 pandemic started in 2020, our healthcare system has experienced tremendous burden unlike ever before. Despite the magnitude of the situation, our nurses have been at the forefront in keeping the nation safe. Our nurses and healthcare workers at OncoCare Cancer Centre and Novena Heart Centre had to work long hours in personal protective equipment, took on roles beyond their usual daily tasks and some even had to isolate themselves from their families to minimize contact. Their sacrifices and dedication certainly do not go unnoticed, and deserve our appreciation.
Despite this year’s celebration being a muted one due to the ongoing COVID-19 restrictions, the Singapore Office CEO, Joelle Lee, showed her appreciation by sending cakes, vouchers and words of appreciation to the nurses and healthcare workers which was a pleasant surprise, especially during these trying times.
Chinese Doctor’s Day celebration: Thank You, My Super Hero
The fourth Chinese Doctor's Day falls on 19th August in honor of the doctors and medical workers' contributions made to individual lives and communities. Due to the recent outbreak of the COVID-19 epidemic, the events planned were changed to a series of "small and beautiful" celebrations across Luye Medical Group offices to thank and salute doctors.
Sharing stories can spark curiosity, questions, and action. Several doctors and medical workers told their personal stories of how they decided to become doctors and the paths that led them to the medical profession. And then they shared the cake and happiness.
In Shanghai office, the celebration kicked off with Luye Life Sciences Group’s micro film "The Smile of Sisyphus full of stories from our hospitals – doctors’, patients’ and staff’s. By watching the film together, we pay tribute to all doctors and patients who are passionate for life.
Amid the latest resurgence of COVID-19 in Yantai, we maintained social distance and prepared tailor-made gift box for doctors in Yantai Campus. The medical team also received warm words of gratitude, care and encouragement written in nicely designed cards. Recently, our doctors took swift actions to guard against COVID-19 resurgence based on local conditions; and we firmly believe that together we can conquer COVID-19.
In Xi’an, a touching sharing session by a psychiatrist led our team to a brand-new perspective, offering everyone a whole new way of seeing, thinking and feeling about their roles as doctors. “When you give happiness to others, you are the happiest person.”
In Guangzhou and Shenzhen, Mindfront Health teams gathered online to tell their stories. “By becoming a doctor, you take away the pain and sufferings of others; as a doctor, you are a continuous source of happiness for many people and their families.”
