On January 28, 2021, the 2021 Annual Conference of Luye Life Sciences Group with the theme of “A Bright Tomorrow Awaits Those on the Right Course” was successfully held via web broadcast with a record number of about 25,000 Luye staff around the globe watching online. With the highly efficient technology removing geographical barriers and providing seamless connection, Luye employees bid farewell to the past year and embraced the new year together, opening a new chapter of the company.

Looking Back for A Better March Forward

2020 is a most memorable year. Facing the threat of the pandemic, we actively mobilized global resources to contribute to the battle against COVID-19 virus, and stood together and rose up to all kinds of challenges, serving more patients with better products and fulfilling our prided mission.

 

Listening to Young People’s Stories

During the 26th anniversary of the founding of the Group in 2020, we had a chance to listen to more voices of our creative and intelligent young people on the first Youth Forum of Luye Life Sciences Group. The lovely youth of Luye contributed to the overcoming of the many challenges of 2020 with their unique resilience. Six representatives from different departments of the Group shared their stories with us. With light in their eyes and passion in their hearts, these exuberant young people are definitely a driving force of the limitless potential of the big Luye family. March forward, young people!

At this year’s new Shanghai meeting venue, representatives of the executive team there sent their greetings to Luye colleagues around the world watching online and wished all Luye staff members great fortune and happiness in the Year of the Ox.

 

 

Bucking the Trend and Striding on the Right Course

Strategy planning and work priorities are hot topics of the Group every year. Representatives of the management teams presented the work summaries and work plans centered on the themes of “Growth” and “Development”. We believe in 2021 we will resist the downward trend and embrace a brighter year with good planning and preparation.

Mr. Yang Rongbing, President of Luye Pharma Group, led the interaction on the “cloud” among management teams spread out at three different locations. Focusing on the key word of “Countermarch”, they discussed topics concerning key links of the product value chain, including R&D, manufacturing, quality, marketing, HR and others; shared their knacks on bucking the downward trend in 2020; and presented their key targets in 2021.

Mr. Charles Wang, CEO of Luye Medical International, and Mr. Tang Dekai, CEO of Mindfront Health (China), shared the business achievements and plans of their respective business units. Facing the impact of the pandemic, the medical group steadied the business operation by actively adjusting the business model and contributed to the fight against virus. The two executives also presented new business plans of the medical group, and expressed their hope to bring more quality medical services to China.

 

Mr. Sam T Dajani, Executive Chairman of Vela Diagnostics, and Mr. Lin Yuan, CEO of Vela Diagnostics, presented the strategies and work priorities of the international and China business, respectively, via web broadcast. In 2020, shortly after the outbreak, Vela started the development, manufacturing and supply chain building of COVID-19 testing kits, doing its part for the global fight against the virus and achieving satisfactory results. In 2021, Vela Diagnostics (China) will accelerate the product development to achieve sustainable business growth and step up promotional efforts via coordination and cooperation to serve more patients.

Science and Business Forum of Luye Life Sciences Group is an important platform for communication on science and technology information, where participants can summarize, share and discuss new trends, technologies and projects in the Group's strategic areas of focus. The deep insights into cutting-edge technologies generated on the platform serve to facilitate the success of the profound transformation and in-depth strategies of the Group. The guest speaker of this year’s furom is Mr. Zou Peng, Chief Analyst of China International Capital Corporation. Via internet, he brought us a lecture on the nucleic acid technology, “The Time for Nucleic Acid Drugs Has Come”.

 

An Unswerving March toward Innovation and Internationalization – Chairman’s Speech

In 2020, in spite of the pandemic, changes of the business environment and policy adjustments, all the business segments of the Group achieved remarkable results on key projects, while actively coping with the impact of the pandemic. On behalf of the Board of the Group, Chairman Liu extended thanks and congratulations to all Luye staff around the world for their hard work.

Facing an even more challenging 2021, all business units of the Group will steadily move their businesses forward, sticking to the strategic objectives of innovation and internationalization. The Group will focus on the key business areas, uphold patient-first principle, actively work on innovative technologies and accelerate the launch of more products with good clinical benefits. Meanwhile, by working with our partners, the Group will actively explore the international market and prepare the current and future product portfolio for the international market to serve more patients around the world.

 

2021 Luye Style Recognition Ceremony

After a year full of uncertainties, we now have a deeper understanding of the Luye spirit. For this year’s recognition ceremony, we decided to try something different, mixing shows with presentation of awards, to extend thanks to the teams and individuals with particularly outstanding performance, as they fully embody the Luye spirit and exert a positive energy. Though many of the award winners were not able to receive the awards in person, it by no means diminished their exemplary significance. Kudos to them!

 

Chairman Liu let the executive team and employee performers in cheering for all the award winners as well as all hard-working Luye staff members.

 

 

Facing the pandemic, people at Luye joint hands, stayed together, put in strict prevention and control measures, and ensured the steady development of all the businesses. The challenging year of 2020, which for numerous times we wished to start all over again, is now behind us, leaving us even more steadfast in the course of innovation and internationalization. On January 18th, the annual meeting of 2021 Oncology Drug Division was held in Nanjing. Reviews the past, looks forward to the future, thanks for the efforts of every member of the Division, and strives forward in the face of many challenges in 2020.
