The Gosford Private Leadership Team provided an on-site Health and Wellbeing Program to support their staff through this stressful and anxious time during the COVID-19 Pandemic. The Health and Wellbeing Program gave staff access to one-on-one exercise sessions supervised by an Exercise Physiologist. Mindfulness sessions were another element provided to the staff. These sessions were designed to calm the mind, body and breath bringing the individual to a relaxed and aware state in the present moment.
On May 12, Mulgrave Private Hospital celebrated International Nurses Day as part of the World Health Organization's (WHO) ‘International Year of the Nurse and Midwife’. Staff were treated to breakfast, lunch or dinner (served by members of the Executive) as a small token of thanks for the selfless contributions they make to the lives of others every day! The community of Volunteers spend time on-site assisting with tasks and supporting the team to engage with patients and the public, while the Consumer Advisors provide support with reviewing and providing valuable and essential feedback for consumer facing information.
In a new strategy to build awareness around Bowel Cancer, Hurstville Private Hospital has engaged their staff to come forward and highlight their own stories about how they have personally been affected by Bowel Cancer. The approach sparked a massive response. The stories will be displayed on the hospital's website and social media platforms along with cancer prevention and screening tools posted throughout the month of June, which is recognized as Bowel Cancer Awareness Month.
