"Covid-19 has taken away so much from us, but it has also brought something special: the opportunity to cooperate, and together to overcome these difficulties. In this way, it has made us work together, learn together, and grow together."
The epidemic situation is more severe than we had originally thought. Cities were locked down, mobility was restricted, and social distancing was demanded ... Our lives have encountered varying degrees of influence and challenges springing from the virus.
A positive attitude and mutual support are especially valuable during this period. In different places around the world, Luye people are transmitting and relaying positive energy by doing our best at whatever we do. Let’s take a look at some of their ordinary and extraordinary moments.
Germany, Misbach
Not long ago, a batch of anti-epidemic medical materials shipped from Luye Life Sciences China successfully arrived at Luye Pharma's German office. In the picture, Luye Pharma administrative assistant Heike (Europe), and EHS colleague Sven Schimmel, are preparing to distribute the medical materials to their colleagues.
Heike shared the working conditions of her European colleagues during the epidemic period, and told of an overall positive outlook.
"We of course would adhere to the rules of our government to make sure that people keep a safe distance from each other,” she said. “Some departments (e.g. warehouses) are divided into different teams, who either work at home or at the company in alternating shifts; offline meetings were moved to Zoom Conference or teleconference.”
“Whether at work or in life, Luye people around the world are also supporting each other. We received a batch of 3D protective masks and disposable masks from the Luye China headquarters. 3D masks will be used in the production area, and disposable masks will be distributed to our employees. We really appreciate the help of Luye China!”
“This special period presents enormous challenges for everyone. We all want to return to normal life as soon as possible! But, we all understand that we have to follow certain restrictions for now. We hope everyone can stay healthy and safe! "
United States, New Jersey, Boston
The severe epidemic in the United States has led to local colleagues and community hospitals facing a dire shortage of masks. In April, colleagues from the offices of New Jersey and Princeton successively received masks shipped from Luye’s Chinese headquarters. Colleagues donated several batch of masks to local communities and health centers in order to help more people in need.
Our HR colleague of Luye USA, Jieyun :
"I sincerely thank the headquarters of the group for sending us the necessary supplies during this critical period. During the coordination process, Chinese colleagues of Supply Chain Management spent a lot of time communicating with mask manufacturers in order to make sure purchased masks could meet local hospitals's need and they also shiped them to us. Thank you for everyone’s warm-hearted help during this trying time."
“The Rivellese Family is Safe with their Luye Provided Face Masks. Thanks, Luye!!”- Paul Rivellese shared this photo with his families.
The New Jersey office donated a batch of masks to the Princeton Medical Center. These masks were sent to the center by our office manager Antonia. In the picture, Antonia and two staff at the medical center can be seen handing over the supplies.
Antonia shipped a batch of masks to the Princeton Community Center. These masks will be sent to those in need: hospitals, police stations, nursing homes, etc.
Luye Boston also donated 8000 masks to Boston Medical Center
At the same time, American colleagues working at home also shared some positive moments about their lives.
Colleagues working from home, having finished work for the day, engaged in a wide variety of fun activities. They decorated eggs, celebrated birthdays, spent time with their loved ones, and even made fun videos to fully celebrate this precious family time...
Australia
Under the "new normal" of social distancing, Healthe Care, a subsidiary of Luye Medical Group, has actively responded to the local policies of Australia and New Zealand in order to adjust its business model and continue providing high-quality medical services for patients. The staff of the hospital also devoted themselves to all aspects of anti-epidemic work with positive actions and an enthusiastic attitude.
Singapore
Cancer patients have reduced immunity, so they belong to the at-risk groups for COVID-19. The masks donated by Luye Medical Group will be distributed to patients receiving assistance from the Singapore Cancer Society, to protect them from exposure to COVID-19 during the journey to and back from their treatment. The Singapore Cancer Society is a Volunteer Welfare Organization (VWO), and some of its beneficiaries are from the lower-income segment of the society. These masks will help to meet their urgent needs.
Luye Medical Group Human Resources Vice President Kathleen He and Singapore CEO Joelle Lee said:
“COVID-19 is a global challenge. Luye Medical Group donates these supplies to help cancer patients better protect themselves from COVID-19. We will continue to fulfill our corporate social responsibility and spend the difficult time together with the patients.”
Singapore Cancer Society Deputy Director Kenneth Foo said:
“Cancer patients are at a higher risk for infection. The masks help to solve the urgent needs of many patients, and we are sincerely thankful to Luye Medical Group for their thoughtful gesture.”
More energies....
Colleagues in Luye commercial departments from different locations: Malaysia, Hong Kong and Singapore switched from their previous "crazy travel" mode to a “home as office” mode, but this did not affect everyone's communication and collaboration in the slightest. In fact, in less than a month, everyone has become an online meeting master!
Amy Zhang, a member of the mask support team from the Group:
"When China was severely short of medical supplies to combat the epidemic, Luye colleagues in other countries immediately provided support; while the situation in China was improved recently, the situation in some other countries became more severe, and Chinese colleagues have sprung into action. Luye family is so united that you can see wherever there is need, Luye people all over the world will give their support. The group made centralized allocation of materials to Luye offices of the United States, Germany, Singapore, Switzerland, and the Middle East. At the same time, we also share high-quality resources to support our global customers with anti-epidemic materials at their cost price."
Editor’s Remarks
This is a war faced by people all over the world, and everyone is a soldier. Perseverance, unity and bravery are without question our most powerful weapons. We would like to offer our heart-felt thanks to each and every Luye colleague—even the most seemingly ordinary people can shine with an extraordinary bravery and compassion. Let us forge ahead and actively face the unknown, together!

《We are the world》
There comes a time when we hear a certain call
When the world must come together as one
There are people dying
Oh, and it's time to lend a hand to life
The greatest gift of all
We can't go on pretending day by day
That someone, somewhere will soon make a change
We're all a part of God's great big family
And the truth - you know love is all we need
We are the world, we are the children
We are the ones who make a brighter day
So let's start giving
There's a choice we're making
We're saving our own lives
It's true we'll make a better day Just you and me
