Aurora healthcare Australia Stride Towards a New and Innovative Future for Mental Healthcare
The opening of the Belmont Private Hospital expansion will increase the number of overnight stays for mental health patients per year by over 12,000, to a total of 58,000 overnight stays in 2024. This marks a significant development in the treatment of mental health in Australia, with demand for treatment exceeding available supply, making Belmont one of the largest private mental health hospitals in the country and now, one of the only facilities that specializes in mental health treatment across ages – from its new Young Adult and Adolescent Unit to its Older Adult Mental Health Unit.
Aurora Healthcare Australia Chief Executive Officer, Ms. Julia Strickland-Bellamy said: “We are delighted to see the completion of the final extension to Belmont Private Hospital. The hospital is also celebrating 50 years of operation this year, which is a remarkable milestone that speaks volumes about Belmont Private Hospital's dedication to providing high-quality care. The addition of this extension further solidifies the hospital's commitment to delivering the best mental health care across different age spectrums with the highest level of expertise.”
“This achievement reflects the hard work, dedication, and passion of the entire team at Belmont Private Hospital. It's a testament to their enduring commitment to improving the health and well-being of the Brisbane community,” she added.
And in New South Wales, Hirondelle Private Hospital is transforming into a mental health oasis. The state-of-the-art mental health hospital will open its doors in early 2024, and the team is dedicated to providing unparalleled care and support for individuals facing mental health challenges.
Today is the Day to Make a Change | World Mental Health Day Flashback
The theme for 10th October 2023 #WorldMentalHealthDay, set by the World Foundation of Mental Health, is ‘Mental health is a universal human right’.
In the midst of all the mental health awareness activities and celebrations, our dedicated mental health team reflected on the best way to implement self-care in our daily routines, raise awareness about mental health issues, promote mental well-being, and advocate for better mental health care.
The day was the day to make a change. While our purpose is to help patients with their wellness journeys, we also focus on the wellbeing of our staff and value their achievements:
For Mindfront Health team, the day was also known as “Psychotherapist's Day” filled with laughter and fun events. A series of fun games including "You Are the Most Precious", "Blessing Delivery", "Lucky Gacha", "Race to the Top" helped participants better understand, compliment, and bless each other.
In the long-waited session "Time Treasure Chest", where everyone opened the "time capsules" and read letters they wrote one year ago – with curiosity and best wishes. Fortunately, we accompanied each other, and the past year witnessed our joint progress. And then, the team wrote down new capsules and sealed their new blessings.
Mindfront Medical was invited by NYU Shanghai to interact with students. Look! Little Koala, Mindfront’s Mascot shared mental health-related knowledge, and played games with new friends. They enjoyed a wonderful day together.
In Aurora Healthcare Australia, our team reflected on the best way to implement self-care in our daily routines. We were also well into Mental Health Month in NSW and Mental Health Week in Queensland.
Above we share our best tips for self-care this month - raw, unedited, straight from the mouths (or pens) of those in the mental health industry.
Belmont Private Hospital hosted its annual Art & Craft Exhibition which included a significant number of contributions from patients. All the entries from Belmont Art Community were outstanding. The team was grateful to all who made this yearly tradition happen.
Staff and doctors at Robina Private Hospital were passionate about supporting “Odd Socks Day” to help to reduce the stigma around mental health in a fun way.
As part of our Mental Health Week celebrations, Robina Private Hospital hosted a special "Express Yourself" event with our team and patients to promote and support inclusivity and positive expression in the LGBTQIA+ community.
October is a huge month for those of us in the mental health industry. It is also the time of year where inevitable “end of year fatigue” starts to slowly creep into many of us - it's a great time to implement self-care.
Thank you, our amazing mental health team for what you have done. Wish you all stay healthy both physically and mentally every day, and make a change for yourself, your family and friends, and the world!

By consulting doctors, the participants gained a better understanding of their own health status, developed scientific health management concepts. In addition, our team assisted them in further arranging diagnosis and treatment plans.
Three gastroenterology experts spared their time to meet residents with consultation on common and chronic diseases, health status and existing medical history. They conducted detailed screening and diagnosis, and patiently analyzed the condition.
In the meantime, Luye Diagnostics team used simple and easy-to-understand language to popularize knowledge about Helicobacter pylori (HP) and drug resistance, medical common sense and health management to residents, and helped them make appointments for gastrointestinal screening packages or at-home stool (Hp) tests.
